| Simpatico, a funny, modern, film noire/psychological thriller, set in the netherworld of professional horseracing, explores the classical themes of loyalty, betrayal, guilt, and restitution. After two men blackmail an official 15 years ago, one has risen to wealth and power, while the other wallows in chaos and misery. The play opens as the down and out loner enacts an elaborate plan of revenge against his old partner, involving his current girlfriend, the blackmailed official, and his partner’s wife, who was curiously married to the loner 15 years ago. |
